Built by someone who’s been in the chaos.
Middleman was built by a hospitality professional who got tired of juggling 47 tabs, losing vendor contacts, and praying the timeline holds. There had to be a better way.
Almost every person planning an event has the same problem: ‘I don’t know who to trust.’
Almost every vendor has the opposite problem: ‘I’m amazing at what I do, but nobody knows I exist.’
The Middleman sits exactly in between those two problems.
This platform grew out of years working in Bay Area hospitality — as a catering director, an event producer, and the person everyone called when something went sideways. After hundreds of events, one pattern became impossible to ignore: the industry runs on trust built entirely through informal word-of-mouth.
Planners cobbled together spreadsheets, group texts, and memory to coordinate vendors. Talented vendors — photographers, florists, rental companies, DJs — were losing business not because of their work, but because they simply weren’t findable when a planner needed them most.
Every client asked the same question: “Who do you recommend?” The answer was always the same: a mental rolodex, a few trusted names, and a hope that everyone would show up. There was no system. There was no network. There was just chaos managed by experience.
Middleman is the platform that should have existed all along. One place to find vendors you can trust, produce flawless events, and recover fast when things go sideways — because they always do.
