Editing after generation
The AI produces an excellent first draft. You make it exactly right. Here's how editing works.
Inline editing
Every document in your production file is fully editable. Click on any text to edit it directly — no special mode, no export-then-edit workflow, no copy-paste into Word.
Changes are saved automatically. You don't need to click Save.
What to edit and what to leave
Definitely review and edit:
- Staffing numbers — the AI calculates ratios based on industry standards, but you know your specific team's pace and capabilities
- Budget line items — replace AI estimates with your actual vendor quotes as they come in
- Timeline buffer time — add your personal buffer based on venue-specific logistics you know
- Menu specifics — add the exact dishes, not the AI's general categories
- Any client-specific details the brief didn't include
Usually leave as-is:
- Document structure and section headers
- Vendor email templates (unless you have an established voice with a specific vendor)
- Safety and logistical checklists
Bulk editing
To make the same change across multiple documents (for example, changing the event date everywhere it appears), use Find & Replace:
- Open the production file
- Press Cmd + Shift + H (Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + H (Windows)
- Enter the text you want to find and what to replace it with
- Click Replace All
Find & Replace works across all documents in the production file simultaneously.
Regenerating sections
If you're not happy with a section, you can ask the AI to regenerate it with additional context:
- Select the section you want to regenerate
- Right-click and choose Regenerate with notes
- Add any specific instructions ("make the timeline more conservative" or "adjust for a venue with a small kitchen")
- Click Regenerate
The rest of the production file is not affected — only the selected section regenerates.
Locking documents
Once a document is finalized and shared with a client or vendor, you may want to lock it to prevent accidental edits:
- Open the document
- Click the Lock icon in the top right
- Confirm the lock
Locked documents are still visible and downloadable — they just can't be edited unless you unlock them. Admin users can always unlock any document.
Version control
Every save creates a new version. To see version history or restore a previous version:
- Open the production file
- Click Settings in the top navigation
- Go to Version History
- Click any version to preview it
- Click Restore to make that version the current one
