How the AI rebuilds timelines
The Panic Button is launching Q1 2027. This article describes how it will work based on our current design.
A timeline is a set of dependencies. When the florist arrives 45 minutes late, it's not just "push everything back 45 minutes." The ceremony still starts at 6pm. The cocktail hour still has to end at 7. The florist has to have everything placed before guests move from ceremony to reception.
Which means something gets cut. Or compressed. Or someone works faster. Or you need one more person.
The AI understands these dependencies. Here's how it works.
What the AI knows about your event
When you generated your production file, the AI built an internal model of your event: which activities depend on which, what has hard deadlines (ceremony start time, last call), what has flexibility (cocktail hour length, dessert service timing), and what has critical path dependencies (floral has to happen before guests arrive in that space).
This model is what makes timeline rebuilding possible. The AI doesn't just know when things happen — it knows why they happen in that order.
When you trigger The Panic Button
You describe the crisis: "Florist is 45 minutes late. Ceremony starts at 6pm, can't move."
The AI:
- Identifies the constraint — ceremony at 6pm is immovable
- Maps the impact — florist arrives at 4:15pm instead of 3:30pm; ceremony space needs florals placed before 5:45pm
- Finds the margin — does the florist team have 90 minutes to do work that normally takes 90 minutes? Yes. Tight but feasible.
- Identifies what must move — the florist doesn't do the cocktail hour space until after ceremony floral is placed, which means cocktail hour decor isn't finished until 6:20pm
- Creates a cascade fix — delay cocktail hour start by 15 minutes (move from 6:30 to 6:45), shorten cocktail hour by 15 minutes, add staff to florals to speed setup
- Generates the revised timeline — every new time block calculated
- Identifies who gets notified — venue coordinator, event captain, bar service (whose start time moved), client (with a clean, crisis-free version of the change)
All of this in under 60 seconds.
What the AI can't do
The AI can't make calls for you. It can't physically move things. It can't make a vendor who isn't responding respond.
What it can do: give you the clearest possible picture of your options and consequences so every decision you make in the next 30 minutes is as informed as possible.
Edge cases
Some crises don't have clean solutions. A caterer who cancels same-day with no backup in your network and no one reachable on The Bridge creates a timeline that doesn't work — and the AI will tell you that clearly, give you the closest viable fallback options, and help you communicate to the client immediately.
The Panic Button doesn't promise to solve every crisis. It promises to give you the fastest, most complete picture of your options so you can make the best decision available.
