How to refer colleagues

Every Founding Member gets a personal referral link. Every colleague who subscribes through your link earns you one free month of service.

There's no cap.

Getting your referral link

  1. Log into your Middleman dashboard
  2. Go to Settings → Referrals
  3. Your unique referral link is displayed there
  4. Copy and share it however you'd like

How earnings work

When someone clicks your link and becomes a paid subscriber:

  • You immediately receive one free month of service added to your account
  • Your referral count goes up by one in your dashboard
  • The colleague you referred gets immediate access through the paid checkout you sent them

Credits accumulate. If you refer 5 people in a month, you get 5 free months — they stack.

Ambassador tier

Refer 20 or more paying subscribers and you're automatically upgraded to the Ambassador tier:

  • Revenue share: 15% of your referrals' monthly fees, paid as platform credit monthly
  • Co-marketing: Your name and company featured in Middleman marketing materials
  • Partner page listing: A dedicated listing on the Middleman partner directory
  • Quarterly strategy calls with the founding team
  • Custom onboarding for your referrals — your referred colleagues get white-glove setup

What makes a good referral

The people most likely to love The Middleman are:

  • Catering managers producing 5+ events per month
  • Event planners with active vendor relationships
  • Venue coordinators managing inbound bookings and productions
  • Operations directors at hotels, country clubs, or conference centers
  • Rental company owners who receive briefs from multiple clients

A bad referral is someone who plans one party per year for their office. They'll cancel within 60 days and the credit won't stick.

The best referrals are people who will actually use the platform and get value from it — because that's what earns your credit and keeps it.

Tracking your referrals

Your referral dashboard (Settings → Referrals) shows:

  • Total referrals (all-time)
  • Active referrals (currently paying)
  • Total credits earned
  • Credits remaining
  • Your current tier (Founding Member / Ambassador)

Sharing tips

The most effective shares we've seen:

LinkedIn post — a short post about how you're using The Middleman with your referral link. Reaches your professional network directly.

Direct intro — "I've been using this for 3 weeks, it cut my production file time from 2 hours to 15 minutes, here's the link" sent to a specific colleague is more effective than mass sharing.

After a successful event — "We just ran our cleanest event in 2 years. Here's the tool that made the difference." The timing is perfect.
