Upgrading and downgrading
You can change your plan at any time. Here's how billing works for each direction.
Upgrading
Upgrades take effect immediately.
When you upgrade mid-cycle, you're billed a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing cycle. For example, if you upgrade from Starter ($0/month) to Pro ($29/month) halfway through your billing month, you'll be charged approximately $14.50 immediately, then $29/month starting your next renewal.
How to upgrade:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Change Plan
- Select your new plan
- Confirm the prorated charge
- Your new plan activates immediately
Downgrading
Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You retain access to your current plan's features until your renewal date.
How to downgrade:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Change Plan
- Select your new (lower) plan
- Confirm — your current plan continues until renewal
- Your downgraded plan activates on your next renewal date
What happens to your data when you downgrade
Your production files are never deleted when you downgrade. They're all still there. If you downgrade to a plan with fewer included features (for example, Pro → Starter), you'll lose access to features like The Bridge and unlimited seats, but your production file history remains intact.
If you downgrade to the Free plan, you retain access to your 2 most recent production files. Older files are archived (not deleted) and become accessible again if you upgrade.
Annual vs. monthly billing
You can switch between annual and monthly billing at any time:
- Monthly → Annual: You're charged the annual rate immediately, and your existing monthly subscription is credited proportionally
- Annual → Monthly: The change takes effect at the end of your annual cycle — you won't be charged monthly until your annual subscription expires
Annual billing saves you 2 months per year (equivalent to 17% off the monthly rate).
Founding 100 plan changes
If you're a Founding Member, your 50% discount applies to any plan you're on. If you upgrade from Pro Founding to Agency Founding, you pay 50% of the Agency rate — not 50% of the Pro rate. Your discount tier moves with you.
